Community Development and Project Management

CEDAR facilitates community development and provides project management support and referral services through service agreements with investors, international development partners, politicians, Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and governments. We are experts in community mobilization and NGO building. Our strength lies in our ability for networking with public and private agencies, Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Community-Based Organisations (CBOs).

Research, Advisory and Consultancy Services

We undertake: policy and action research; base line and feasibility studies; needs assessment and business plan studies; monitoring and evaluation; market research and business advice support. We also have updated database on development experts and organisations as well as a well-stocked development resource library.

Training, Mentoring and Learning Exchanges

We facilitate training, international internships, learning journeys and exchange programs. The internships serve to connect international students, faculty, government agencies, private organizations including business and professional groups with local communities. This is to create innovative cross cultural solutions to felt needs. Examples of Learning Exchanges include:-

  1. Internship for Members of AIESEC from Cameroon. 2008
  2. Annual Practicum Site for George Warren Brown Institute of Social Work, Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri, USA
  3. Hosting of Coalition for Change (C4C) Internship 2008
  4. Study Tour to Songhai, Benin Republic, Ghana, Togo, and South Africa for officials of public and private institutions

CEDAR undertakes demand-driven customised training courses for organizational and personal skills development on behalf of international partners, private organisations, CSOs and governments. Apart from these, specific courses are organised at different periods of the year to build and enhance the capacity of interested participants. These include inter alia training in areas such as:-

Networking and Advocacy

Here we engage in networks, alliance building and partnerships towards issue-driven advocacy in collaboration with other Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Networks. CEDAR is the Zonal Representative of Civil Society Coalition for Poverty Eradication (CISCOPE) in Nigeria apart from others.
